Journalists’ Union expresses thanks and gratitude to international journalists in solidarity with their colleagues from Yemen

The Union of Yemeni Journalists expressed great gratitude and appreciation to their international colleagues who stood in full solidarity with Yemeni journalists on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day.

In a letter of thanks sent by the Executive Office, the Union expressed pride in the collective efforts exerted by the Yemeni journalists who are sparing no efforts in investigating and reporting on the crimes perpetrated by the Saudi coalition against the Yemenis for five years. In this vein, the Union stressed, in its message, that this professional and humanitarian stance by free voices would, inevitably, support the efforts of the Yemeni media and its national institutions to shed light on the sufferings of the Yemeni people, so that the world finds out about their sufferance, put pressure on the war coalition to end the aggression, lift the unjust siege, and end the crimes and violations against civilians in Yemen, calling for the strengthening of joint action with a view to investigating the crimes and violations of the coalition that target the anti- Saudi-American aggression’s media professionals and institutions.

In cooperation with the Journalists Support Committee (JSC), several international journalists sent a message of solidarity with journalists in Yemen on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day. The message of solidarity commended the significant and courageous work of journalists investigating and reporting on war crimes committed by the military coalition led by Saudi Arabia, while addressing the media saying: “Without your efforts, the world will not discover and realize the magnitude of the humanitarian crisis imposed on Yemen.

” International journalists urged their colleagues in Yemen to continue this professional journalistic task considered as one of the means to help alleviating the suffering of Yemenis, by putting pressure on the coalition to end the war against Yemen.
